Footage for this short film was documented during a cultural exchange project between suburban children and rural farm children in northern Illinois.
The children participated in seven separate exchanges to learn more about each other and how they live. By exploring the learning, play, work, and family time of each group, an understanding and validation of each other’s cultures emerged. The Kids Table: A Pint Sized Farm to Fork Film focuses on the farm children and the knowledge of the natural world they share with their friends. The importance of knowing where your food comes from and the role of family farm culture is illustrated. |
